The XJ-S was launched in September 1975, with an initial shape set by Malcolm Sayer. Power came from the Jaguar V12 engine either with manual or automatic transmission. The specifications of the XJ-S compared well with other performance cars, it was able to accelerate to 60 mph 7.6 seconds and had a top speed of 143 mph. The first series of XJ-S cars had a Borg-Warner Model 12 transmission, but in 1977 GM Turbo-Hydramatic 400 transmissions were fitted. The XJ-S was originally supplied with Dunlop SP Super E205/70VR tyres on 15 × 6K alloy wheels.

This Jaguar XJS-Sports Coupe V12 Pre-HE is a 1977 UK registered in its original colour of Old English White with Black Leather seats. This is similar to the XJ-S featured in the TV series "The Saint."

This Jaguar has only done approximately 8,000 miles since 1997, the other 80,000 was done in the first 20 years of its life. It was lady owned from 1995, with previous MoTs, copies of all logbook owner's letters, Hand Book and Service Receipts, one with  £800 spent 2 years ago on new front brake calipers, steering rack bush mount kit and MoT repair work carried out. The car has the later style lattice wheels and stronger bumpers fitted. Also sold with the original type 4 Kent alloy wheels, 3 of which in need of refurbishment, while the other is in nice condition. All 5 tyres are Pirelli, Super Touring in good condition. A  new exhaust system was fitted 2 years ago. Has been dry stored through the years and has storage marks, while the interior is very good for the age, being over 40 years old. The car is now tax, Mot and ULEZ exempt, being future proof, a good classic investment.

Drives superbly through the gears and with good oil pressure, which benefits an MoT until June 2020.
